How can I open a bank account in Turkey?

Most banks in Turkey offer a choice of accounts that meet customer needs and offer a wide range of services.

Accounts are usually approved on the same day.

There are three types of accounts:

• These are generally free, but non-interest-bearing

• Savings account

• Deposit account

If a customer wants a joint account, this is possible. it is important to determine whether a single or joint signature is required to withdraw money when opening a joint account.

These are the documents needed to open an account in Turkey:

  • Passport or identity card
  • Turkish tax number
  • Completed proof of signature form
  • Proof of address (Invoice electricity, ..)

It is possible for non-residents to open a bank account in Turkey. The same documents are required for this case.
