How do I dress in Turkey?
Traditional clothing is a big part of Turkish culture. In the past, the Turks weaved their own clothing and made dyes from natural plant-based ingredients in a way that reflected their feelings in the designs they made.
In modern times, each region has its own characteristics in terms of clothing, headwear, scarves and socks, all of which have attractive interest and admiration.
Leather and felt materials have priority due to natural and social conditions. In addition to these materials; Sheepskin, fur and wool materials are important components in clothing.
When choosing your clothes, it is advisable to take into account that Eastern Turkey is a traditional and mostly conservative area.
Especially for women it is appreciated that you are sufficiently covered - legs and upper arms, no close-fitting outfits - dressed. Furthermore, it is unusual for men and women to show affection for each other in public.
In the western part, people are more free to dress the way they want. Take the weather into account, depending on where you live.
